(Re) discover our regions by going to sleep at the wine estate !

If the 5 departments of the Pays de la Loire were gathered arbitrarily, the Ligerian region looks like a faithful reduction of France, which passes for the most varied country in Europe.
The Pays de la Loire has two faces: the Atlantic coast, on the one hand, and the Loire valley and its tributaries, on the other. Diversity is the key word to summarize the nature of the vineyards of the Loire Valley. The vineyards of the Nantais region, Anjou, Touraine, more local vineyards in the south-east of Blois… this is the geography that explains the great variety of terroirs and climates of the Loire Valley, which explains the diversity of wines and grape varieties!

The Loire Valley is a vast region that offers a varied range of visits and tastings so do not hesitate and follow our advice to visit this beautiful region!

  • Don’t forget your sunglasses

Because you will be amazed at them during the commented cruises on the Loire! Nothing better than a small boat trip to discover the villages along the Loire between Angers and Nantes. You can see the most beautiful landscapes of Maine et Loire and know more about the history of the river, its inhabitants and nature. Themed cruises are possible, and you can also choose to travel on a traditional boat or a little newer… but we recommend traditional boats for more authenticity!

To 🍷 on site: the Muscadet of course! A wine that can be fresh, lively for those produced near the ocean but that can also be much rounder, aged on lees when it is tasted near Nantes as the Muscadet Sèvres and Maine where we consider that are produced the best Muscadets. This is what the Vignoble Marchais proposes.

  • Prepare your itinerary by including the troglodytic cellars of Saumurois and Touraine.

Once dug for the tuffeau, building stone of many castles of the Loire, in these underground networks are now created hotels, mushroom or wine cellars, those of fine bubbles in particular. These troglodytic cellars are ideal for vinifying and raising exceptional wines thanks to their moisture content, their darkness and their natural bacteria that will allow to give aromas to future wines. Discover these fabulous Saumurois cellars and taste their wines! You will not be disappointed! Moreover, in these cellars the fine bubbles are queen.Indeed, for you to discover them, several houses with underground galleries open their doors to you such as the house Gratien & Meyer, the house Bouvet-Ladubay, the house Ackerman or the cellars Monmousseau… So many places of exceptions that will make you salivate (with moderation of course)!

  • Amateur of exceptional products you will be served!

With its rich soils and mild climate, the territory of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Park lends itself well to agricultural, market gardening activities… Some unexpected productions contribute to his fame, sometimes worldwide.
Among these productions are saffron, asparagus, rose, and truffle!
Indeed, in the Pays de la Loire, you can find many truffle farms open to visits. Present in the Richelais since the eighteenth century, the cultivation of the truffle then developed strongly in the region, whose limestone soils it appreciates. Every year, nearly a ton of Touraine truffles are produced, mainly between Marigny-Marmande and Richelieu, as well as around Chinon. To taste this black diamond, we advise you to go to the truffle market of Marigny-Marmande, the most famous of the territory!

And to accompany it 🍷, we recommend a Vouvray or a Savennières based on Chenin considered the wines kings of the Loire! Savennières produced at Château Soucherie!

  • Take your time and visit the Loire on the rails…

Take the little train of the lookout points and discover two points of view in a fun way. A walk of about 3kms that starts from the belvedere of Commelle, which skirts the lake of Villerest and which joins the belvedere of Magneux. The small train runs every day in summer, the opportunity to visit and learn while having fun, ideal for families!
Embark on a great journey through time! You will learn more about the time of the sailors and the construction of the Villerest dam. Animations and a large family game are offered, so enjoy a family stay at the winemaker to discover this unique place! Our little tip in addition: have lunch at the Commelle lookout point to enjoy a magnificent viewpoint.

To 🍷 on the spot: you are here in Auvergne, and it is not always known but the Auvergne belongs to the Loire wine region and produces wines, red for the most part: discover the wines of Saint-Pourçain based on gamay and pinot noir, fruity, light but also the wines of the Côtes du Forez, the vineyards the northern ones of which some parcels are nestled on the volcanic slopes of the Massif Central.

  • What would the Loire be without its castles…

Of course, our last advice is to take your camera, and organize (or let us do it for you) to visit the Loire Valley Castles! The castles of this region are numerous and varied, from different eras and styles. One that is worth the detour more than the others? It looks like the castle of Chambord, posthumous masterpiece of Leonardo da Vinci. But… we could also recommend Villandry for its magnificent flower gardens, Chenonceau nicknamed “the castle of the ladies” (we will not tell you more… ), Azay-le-Rideau, Amboise, Blois… You will have understood, the Loire offers as many castles as wine styles that will delight you we are sure!

To 🍷 on site: a few minutes from Tours do not miss to taste the wines of Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny: blending wines whether in white (sauvignon and chardonnay) or red (pinot noir and gamay)!

We are available to organize your dream stay and offer you the accommodation that suits you best… staying at the winery of course!
